NUJ on all out strike at Doncaster Free Press

Louise Harrison
Myself and John Moorcroft went to the picket line today, and just like UKuncut reported the 8 picketers, which included 4 women were very strong willed and determined to win. I think in terms of helping them we should ask friends and family to boycott the free press. The Doncaster star, chapel, has given them a generous donation. The journalists are confident, though recognise they need solidarity from other local unions and campaigners. Whilst we were there, many drivers of cars, buses, fire engines and work vans hooted their horns in support. This Saturday, CoR is going to hold a stall in support of the NUJ journalists at eleven o’clock at clock corner. Please com and help run it. a striker said to day, it is the act of solidarity that is keeping him going. Another one said, after weeks of News Corp’s antics, this strike is not just about jobs but giving journalism back it’s good name. Why? Because, local areas need good investigative journalists who will champion local campaigns.
