Bring the Spirit of the TUC March to Doncaster

The TUC demo yesterday was huge, with nearly half a million people on it. It is difficult to assess how many of them were from Doncaster but I know hundreds went by train and I believe there were six coach loads left from Waterdale.

For me it was inspirational and certainly showed that if we use our collective power we can turn back the cuts. I think most people oppose cuts but only a tiny few want to force them through.

Education is the latest battleground in Doncaster, with the council planning to close an excellent primary school, Cantley Sycamore, amongst others, and privatise the majority of our secondary schools. Next Saturday, 2nd April, we are demonstrating outside the Mansion House, 12 noon, to let them know there is an opposition to their vicious cuts. I hope that all of us can come together and bring the spirit of what we saw yesterday to Doncaster
